Ambush Signals

Ambush is a time-proven mean-reversion day trading System focused on a variety of Futures markets around the globe. With Ambush Signals you can now easily follow the Ambush System on a subscription basis for educational purposes.

Time-Proven System

Ambush is not a new trading system. Actually Marco came up with the idea back in 2007. In it's first version it was launched as Forex Stealth in 2008 focused on the forex markets. One year later we added MiniMax to trade the same idea in the stock index futures. Shortly after Ambush was born, merging the two methods into one adding more markets. From then on Ambush was continually improved to further increase the robustness of the method but the basic idea never changed and has proven itself over many years.

Continuous Improvement

Usually once a year Ambush gets slightly optimized to adapt to current market conditions. This optimization is of course done very carefully by Marco himself to avoid over-fitting with a strong focus on robustness instead of plain performance improvements. Any optimization is of course automatically embedded in Ambush Signals so you actually probably won't even notice it. Also whenever Marco manages to further improve the Algo of Ambush in a significant way, you will directly profit from it without having to change anything on your side.

Diversified Markets

Ambush Signals supports a wide range of futures markets including currency, commodity, stock index and interest rate futures. This allows trading a portfolio of low correlated markets like Natural Gas and the E-Mini S&P 500 which helps reducing drawdowns. To find out more, have a look at the Ambush Markets & Performance.

Easy to Follow

Ambush Signals has been built with a focus on easy of use to make it as easy as possible to follow the Ambush System. The informations provided on the Dashboard are 100% clear and unambiguous. You'll know exactly when to enter a trade, at what price, where to place your protective stop and how and when to exit a trade. Thanks to the detailed help section and our support you'll be able to follow Ambush Signals with clarity and confidence.

Stress Free Day Trading

While Ambush technically is a day trading system, meaning you will always enter and exit on the same trading day - Ambush actually sets you free from your trading screen during the day. You literally place your entry orders once a day and then walk away until the close of the markets you're trading. No need to move stops during the day or perform other micro-managing nonsense while still profitting from intraday volatility!

Web Apps

Use the AlgoStrats Web Applications to support your trading. You can get the lot size for each contract calculated automatically to fit your account size and risk preferences based on current market volatility. Also any trading times shown like when to exit a trade are converted to your local timezone if you like avoiding confusion right from the beginning.

The Ambush Edge

What's the idea behind Ambush? What's it's edge?

Actually Marco came up with Ambush testing out short-term breakout strategies in various markets back in 2007. While these strategies tended to perform not too bad in a some markets, they performed extremely poor in others. What to do? Of course reverse the idea. Looking for markets that tend to mean-revert in the short run and build a system to exploit this market behavior, Ambush was born.

Here's an example of Ambush Signals trading Natural Gas. We're looking at a daily price chart and as you'd expect:

  • Filled red arrows are short entries and filled blue arrows are long entries
  • Hollow blue arrows are short exits and hollow red arrows are long exits
Looking at the Entries and Exits on this chart it's obvious that the Ambush System is designed to counter-trend trade markets on potential reversal days to take advantage of their short-term mean-reverting behavior. Another thing to notice is that all of these are day trades, Ambush does not hold positions overnight.

Currenty we don't offer Auto Trading, but thanks to the Position Sizing Web-App integrated on the Dashboard your position sizes are calculated automatically making it an easy task to follow the trades. It really doesn't take more than a couple of minutes every day. But we might offer fully automated trading solutions in the future!

The Ambush Signals Dashboard gets updated MO-FR between 19:00 and 20:00 NY time, usually around 19:30 NY time.

Once available you can place your entry orders for the next trading day. If you can't be online during that time but shortly after you can still follow the trades but might of course get slightly different results.

After this you can walk away and depending on your broker and platform might even be able to automatically close all trades. Otherwise you just need to be back around the close of the markets you're trading.

Yes, you can subscribe to an email alert list and you will get an email immediately when the Dashboard is updated.

Yes, but it's only a protective stop-loss that's rarely hit. Usually trades are exited otherwise.

No, Ambush Signals only provides you the Signals of Ambush for each of the listed markets. If you want to know the exact rules, you can buy the Ambush eBook. As an Ambush owner, you'll not only know what's going on behind Ambush Signals but you'll also get Ambush signals itself at a discount.
No. What you see on the Ambush Signals Dashboard or the results/performance pages are just simulated trades. I do my best to make these results as realistic as possible, but unlike AlgoStrats:FX these are NOT real money trading results.
